seminar 4

Hey! After analyzing the information offered in Seminar 4, I want to say a few words about the services for creating and storing presentations. As for storing presentations, I can highlight the Speaker Deck. When you post a presentation on blog or website, it automatically scaled to the necessary size without degrading the quality of the image. And there is no advertising! Concerning the creation of presentations, of course, I would like to note the service of Prezi. For a novice user, this service may seem complicated, because it doesn’t have the usual interface in the form of drop-down menus, but if you thoroughly understand Prezi, you can create masterpiece presentations in which you can move in a non-linear screenplay, which strongly distinguishes Prezi from other tools.  In the next post I will try to show you my presentations made in different services.

home task

Hello! In addition to my previous post, I want to share another  resource  and tell about it in detail.   This site will help you to prepare for any discipline in which you need to write different dictations, tests, etc. It's aimed at learning new vocabulary. Let's start! After registration, you need to choose the language which vocabulary you want to know. I chose English. Then you need to create your own dictionary (there will be words that you need to learn). Here you can create both English-Russian and Russian-English dictionary. I chose the English-Russian dictionary. Let's imagine you need to prepare for a dictation on the topic 'Forms of government'. For this first you need to create your own dictionary. I can highlight some of the advantages: automatic translation options are provided here and also you can edit the translation yourself. As for the disadvantages, there isn’t a transcription everywhere and you cannot write the transcriptio...

home task

Hi! My home task was to prepare the services that are associated with the study within particular discipline. To be honest, I don't use any online services for studying on a permanent basis except for various dictionaries, of course:) So let's talk a little about them, but specifically about Google translator . I do not understand why many tutors of our university misprise it. May be because they didn't use this translator for a long time, having had time to be disappointed. So, for the last 1-3 years, Google translator has undergone significant changes for the better (at least this applies English-Russian and Russian-English dictionaries). Of course, it isn't perfect, like nothing in this world)) but nevertheless it is not bad (!) if it is to be compared with an older version. It's clear that google translator is not all-purpose, especially if you need specific tones, meanings of the word or how to pronounce a word. Then I use multitran or wooordhunt . Exept fo...

seminar 2

Hello! I have a new post for you:) In the last lesson, we discussed the topiс 'CALL and language skills'. As everyone knows, if you want to learn something, then you need to develop your skills skills. This also applies to languages. And today I want to talk about some useful resources for learning English that were proposed for study at the seminar . Let's start with the developing of your listening and speaking skills. You can download Higgin's multimedia guide that organized in comparison of personal pronunciation with a reference accent not only on hearing, but also visually on the schedule on the screen. But this is not ideal for learning the pronunciation of the English language, because after some research (or user's comments) it was found that the schedule displays inaccurate results: supposedly real native speakers speak it incorrectly. That's why you should also visit this site . I told about it more detailed in the previous post. The a...

seminar 1

Hello! My name is Ann, I'm 20 years old and I'm studying at BSU. This blog was created to describe my impressions of the course. This is my first blog post, in which I need to answer some questions. First of all, I'll write my opinion about blogs offered at the seminar. The first one can be very useful for those who want to improve their English (especially pronunciation) at least a girl from the video says so and she souns convincing. As stated in the blog's description there are many online courses to learn English, but not so much to improve pronunciation or to study how to speak like native people do in any particular country. Also I really liked that there is an opportunity to try a free short course and due to it you can understand if course suits you. The English language teacher's blog is informative and interesting, but I think this information can be found on the Internet. So let's get to the question 'Is it important for a language teacher...
